WEP & NAT

Postby DenverRedHead » Fri Jan 25, 2008 11:07 am

WEPWired Equivalent Privacy, a deprecated security protocol for wireless under IEEE 802.11. Virtually worthless, as software to break it has been generally available since it's introduction in 1999.

NATNetwork Address Translation, a method of hiding actual IP addresses via a masking technique at the firewall or gateway. Also used to overcome the shortage of IPv4 addresses by reusing 192.168.* space internally.[/b]
