Very late notice, but we WILL have a Toilers meeting at noon today (in CH 156). Topics are:

- How to be a terrible graduate student (advisor)
- How to have a bad career in research
- How to give a bad (good) talk

Reminder: you are expected to read the paper BEFORE it is presented in Toilers. If you don't know how to access the papers (on internal Twiki), send me an email.

Peter/Julie: I just sent you an email about this.

We have a Toilers meeting this FRIDAY (Sept 25th) at noon.

PRESENTER = Chris Walsh

Required Reading: Posted on internal Twiki under the schedule for Fall 2009.

The presentation will be on the feasibility of distributed beamforming in wireless networks. The language in the paper is quite good - it is (moderately?) accessible to a person with little electrical engineering knowledge. Some parts are a bit rough though. This work was done at the University of California at Santa Barbara.

This week's Toilers meeting will be done by me again. I'm having trouble deciding on a paper to talk about... Last meeting's paper seemed to make everyone's eyes glaze over. I promise to have one posted before I sleep tonight :)

UPDATE: I've selected a nice white paper that's pretty new (Feb 2009). It provides a great overview of all the recent publications in the area. The pdf is up on the Twiki.

Phil will present a SenSys 2009 paper in Toilers today. The title of the paper is "Collection Tree Protocol". Please check it out on Twiki.

When it's your turn to present, don't forget to announce what you'll be doing on this forum. Thanks!
